„Reykjavík I swallow you“

Í nýjasta tölublaði tímaritsins Ós - The Journal má finna marga áhugaverða texta eftir höfunda sem eru af ýmsu bergi brotnir en eiga það sammerkt að búa á Íslandi.

Reykjavík

Reykjavík this ain't no love letter.

Reykjavík your sky is gray like the depression of three dogs.

Reykjavík your street lights shine like dirty stars.

Reykjavík ég elska þig.

Reykjavík I love your bitchy attitude.

I wish I'd be Allen Ginsberg but I'm not.

Reykjavík stop trying to be NY.

Reykjavík my train tickets are as invalid here as my language.

Reykjavík I write in English and make mistakes.

Reykjavík ég skrifa á íslensku og geri meiri.

Reykjavík your old people like me cause I look Icelandic.

Reykjavík I was asked if I was polish and it sounded like an insult.

Ég tala íslensku but my accent tears the words apart.

Ég er þýsk but I didn't know what it meant until I flew out.

Ég borða Kleinuhringir og pylsu just to get the feeling of it.

Reykjavík I draw your oulines on my skin.

Reykjavík I lost some of my intestines on your streets.

Reykjavík ég ældi á þig but that makes us more alike.

Reykjavík ég á heima in your stomache.

Reykjavík I am your bad news.

Reykjavík I swallow you.

Reykjavík ertu hrædd?

Reykjavík I once wanted to drown in the pond and a swan saved me.

Reykjavík who saves you?

Reykjavík I'm just a girl like you.
